The silent night seems calm, but some diseases “visit” people when they fall asleep. When a good dream is in full swing, it is also a time when many diseases are raging.
According to incomplete statistics, the night is the highest time of the day for morbidity and mortality. Night onset is difficult to find and often delays diagnosis and treatment. Medical experts remind us to pay special attention to preventing various diseases at night.
1. Coronary heart disease
According to statistics, in western countries, at least 80% of sudden cardiac death is caused by coronary heart disease and its complications, of which acute myocardial infarction accounts for 60%. 62.8% occurred in the middle of the night and the early morning. Some patients with coronary heart disease are prone to attack at night, which may be related to nightmares and nervous tension during sleep, which may cause sympathetic excitement and accelerated heart rate, and increased venous blood return after lying flat during sleep, which may aggravate heart load. Prevention and treatment: ⑴ sleep in a calm mood to avoid nightmares; ⑵ the pain can be gradually relieved by sitting up slowly; ⑶ take orally or contain drugs such as quick acting Jiuxin Pill, Guanxin Suhe pill or quick acting nitroglycerin to dilate the coronary artery.
2. Asthma
The patient suddenly feels chest tightness, cough, shortness of breath, and then dyspnea, accompanied by wheezing. Those who are serious are forced to sit up, shrug their shoulders, gasp and have blue lips. The onset of the disease at night is related to the “biological clock” of the human body. Because of the excitement of the nerves during sleep at night, the bronchial smooth muscle spasms, resulting in asthma attacks and forced to sit upright and breathe. Prevention: people suffering from this disease should be provided with panting and other drugs for prevention at ordinary times, and should be sent to the hospital for treatment in case of serious cases.
3. Cerebral infarction
When some patients get up in the middle of the night or early in the morning, they suddenly find hemiplegia, numbness of limbs, crooked mouth and eyes, blurred vision, etc. This is mainly due to the slow heart rate and slow blood flow during sleep at night. In addition, the blood viscosity of the elderly is high, the blood vessel wall is rough, and the platelets are easy to agglutinate, forming thrombi. Prevention: ⑴ under the guidance of doctors, take small doses of drugs that can inhibit platelet aggregation and reduce blood viscosity, such as aspirin and sodium alginate; ⑵ do not restrict drinking water too much before going to bed, so as to avoid blood thickening.
4. Cholelithiasis
It often occurs at night, and patients often wake up in the middle of the night. Because of the increased vagal excitability at night. In addition, when sleeping at night, lying flat is easy to cause stones in the gallbladder to slide through the bile duct, causing bile duct obstruction and pain. Patients with severe pain are restless and even cause nausea, vomiting and other symptoms. Treatment: pain can be relieved by finger pressing or acupuncture at Zusanli, Neiguan, Hegu and other acupoints. If necessary, send to the hospital for treatment.
5. Urinary retention
Male middle-aged and old people all have prostatic hyperplasia. The enlarged prostate can compress the urethra, making it impossible to empty all urine every time, resulting in increased residual urine and relatively reduced bladder capacity. Because there is no external factor interfering with the sensory nerve at night, I feel frequent urination, but my urine volume is very small each time. Treatment: ⑴ take medicine according to the doctor’s advice; (2) surgical treatment shall be performed in case of serious cases.
