In the ophthalmology outpatient department, we can often hear some young and middle-aged people complain about dry eyes, burning sensation, or foreign body sensation, transient blurred vision, and sometimes eye swelling, headache, and neck pain. Detailed examination found that some people had decreased vision, conjunctival congestion, decreased regulatory power, severe keratosis of cornea and conjunctiva, and reduced tear secretion. Ask them about their occupations: most of them are programmers, bank operators, information operators, and word processors.
We diagnosed visual fatigue syndrome, which is called computer video terminal syndrome by the American optometry society. With the development of information technology, operating computer terminals is almost an inevitable part of modern life. According to the clinical investigation, the incidence of visual fatigue syndrome of terminal operators accounts for about 70%, and the degree of eye fatigue is closely related to the length of working time.
The reason is:
1. Working posture and distance: the working distance is too close, the screen is too small (computer and notebook), and the posture is incorrect.
2. Poor screen quality and poor definition.
3. Working environment: the ambient light is too strong or too weak.
4. The working time is too long.
5. The diopter of the glasses is inappropriate and the pupil distance is incorrect.
Prevention and treatment:
1. Take a 15 minute rest every 1-2 hours, close your eyes or look far, and massage your eyes.
2. The office environment should be kept ventilated and moist.
3. If you are a spectacler, it is very important to have a pair of suitable glasses.
4. Make corresponding adjustment according to the above reasons to avoid fatigue.
5. Take vitamin A from food and ensure adequate sleep
6. Drop artificial tears, moisturizing eye water and xinledun eye water on both eyes.
7. If the symptoms are not relieved, seek further treatment from an ophthalmologist.
