The pace of modern life is fast, and many people feel that they can’t sleep enough. A new survey by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 48% of adults said they did not get enough sleep (less than 7.5 hours per night), which seriously affected their work and life the next day. American sleep expert Dr. Michael Bruce has listed a simple and almost perfect formula: time to sleep + 7.5 hours = time to get up.
Bruce said that a sleep cycle is 90 minutes, and five sleep cycles must be guaranteed every night to achieve the goal of 7.5 hours of sleep. And how to achieve this requirement, it is very important to grasp the correct time to go to bed.
First of all, it should start from the waking time, which involves a variety of external factors such as when to get up to work and prepare everything for the child. For example, if you have to get up at 5:30 in the morning, you should go to bed at 10:00 in the evening. If you can maintain this work and rest time for 10 consecutive days, it is easy to wake up a few minutes before the alarm clock rings.
Bruce said that some people will find it difficult to fall asleep if they go to bed too early, but if they can persist, the sleep formula will work for everyone. The key to this formula is “time to get up”. If you can ensure that you go to bed at 11:00 every night and get up at 6:30 the next day, your biological clock will be naturally adjusted. For those who really have trouble falling asleep, it is recommended to set an alarm for bedtime, which is preferably half an hour before bedtime.
