Dr. Maxwell, who is in charge of this study, pointed out that heart disease is the number one killer of women’s health. If women can recognize the precursor of heart attack as soon as possible and realize that the appearance of new symptoms such as fatigue may be an early warning signal of an imminent heart attack, it will play a very beneficial role in guarding against and subduing this “killer”. For those women who have risk factors such as smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, overweight or family history of heart disease, it is more meaningful to understand this and take preventive measures as soon as possible.
According to the research results of Arkansas Medical University in the United States, inexplicable fatigue and insomnia in women may be a sign of heart attack.
The traditional view is that chest pain is the main symptom of heart attack. However, in the survey of 515 women with an average age of 66, researchers found that among these women admitted for acute myocardial infarction within 4-6 months before the survey, only about 30% had chest discomfort and chest pain one month before the onset, while 71% had unexplained fatigue, 48% had sleep disorders, and 42%, 39% and 35% had shortness of breath, indigestion and anxiety respectively. Therefore, researchers believe that fatigue and insomnia may be more important early symptoms of heart attack in women.
