According to Taiwan’s “Chinese health network”, sleeping without drying your hair after washing it at night may lead to mold infection, just as wet hair is like wet rags without drying.
Japanese hair care expert Yasuhiro Suzuki said that sleeping with wet hair may lead to some unexpected consequences:
1. Damage hair quality. The cuticle of wet hair that has just been washed is in an expanded state and is extremely vulnerable to damage. If you sleep with your hair wet, the friction between your hair and the pillow will easily lead to the exfoliation of the stratum corneum and damage your hair.
2. Cause alopecia. Sleeping with wet hair will cool the scalp, which is not conducive to the blood circulation of the head, and then cause hair loss.
3. Bacterial breeding. Sleeping with wet hair is like putting a wet rag on. The scalp wrapped by pillows and wet hair may have a large number of bacteria and molds.
In addition, a large amount of water evaporates from the head after shampooing, which will take away a lot of heat from the body. If immunity is low, heat dissipation will constrict the capillaries of the upper respiratory tract, reduce the local blood flow, and reduce the resistance of the upper respiratory tract. It is easy for local viruses or bacteria that have long existed to enter the upper respiratory tract, causing upper respiratory tract infection and cold symptoms, such as runny nose, nasal congestion, headache and even fever.
After washing your hair, if you wipe it hard with a towel, the cuticle will be damaged and fall off like sleeping with wet hair. If you use a hair dryer, the high temperature may also damage your hair. Yasuhiro Suzuki suggests that you first press a towel on your hair to suck out the moisture; Then wrap your hair with a towel and dry it; Then use a comb to comb the water of the hair to the tip of the hair, and then wrap the hair in a towel to wipe it once; After wiping, dry the hair with a hair dryer, which can avoid damaging the hair quality if the hair dryer is used for too long.
