Fatty liver is an acquired disease caused by bad lifestyle. What are the signs of fatty liver? How can we prevent it?
Signals of fatty liver
1. Loss of appetite
Loss of appetite is one of the common symptoms of fatty liver. If you lose appetite for a long time, you should consider the possibility of fatty liver in addition to gastritis and other diseases.
2. Nausea, vomiting and abdominal distension
If mild fatty liver is accompanied by liver function damage, it may be accompanied by nausea, retching, anorexia, epigastric fullness and other discomfort. Nausea often occurs alone.
3. Fatigue
Moderate or above fatty liver can have signs of burnout and fatigue.
4. Spider nevus
It is a vascular nevus formed by the branching expansion of the end of the cutaneous arterioles. It looks like a spider, so it is called spider nevus. It often appears on the face, neck, back of hand, upper arm, chest and shoulder.
The diameter can be from the needle to several centimeters or more. During inspection, press the center of the nevus with fingertips or cotton swabs, and the radial “small blood vessel network” will fade, which will appear again after removing the pressure. It is most common in patients with acute and chronic hepatitis or liver cirrhosis, but it can also be seen in some patients with fatty liver.
5. Vitamin deficiency
When fatty liver is caused by fat accumulation and vitamin deficiency in diet, people are prone to multi vitamin deficiency. Clinically, peripheral neuritis, glossitis, angular stomatitis, skin congestion, hyperkeratosis and so on can be seen. A few people may also have gastrointestinal bleeding, gum bleeding, epistaxis, etc.
6. Endocrine disorders
Some people in the population with severe fatty liver can have male breast development, testicular atrophy, erectile dysfunction, female menorrhagia, amenorrhea, and patient weight loss or increase.
7. Jaundice
Jaundice is caused by the increased concentration of bilirubin in the blood due to the metabolic disorder of bilirubin in the body, which penetrates into the tissues and stains the sclera, mucosa and skin yellow. The type of jaundice in fatty liver is usually hepatocyte. This type of jaundice is often accompanied by fatigue, burnout, loss of appetite and other symptoms. A few patients with fatty liver will have mild jaundice, which will subside after the fat in the liver is cleared.
