Taiji Sword mainly includes 13 sword techniques, such as point, stab, chop, sweep, belt, draw, cut, wipe, lift, hit, hang, hold and block.
1. Click the sword. The hand holding the sword should use the wrist to force the sword tip, and use the front end of the blade on the opposite side of the tiger’s mouth to peck from top to bottom. It mainly attacks the opponent’s wrist or shoulder arm, such as the action of “point sword with parallel steps” and “point sword with virtual steps”.
2. Stabbing the sword with legs, waist and arms, with the tip of the sword inserted directly into the vital part of the opponent. According to the form of the sword, there are flat stabbing (the ridge of the sword is up and down, and the blade is flat on both sides), vertical stabbing (the blade is up and down), stabbing (twisting the wrist to make the sword tip spiral stab), etc. According to the position of the sword, there are upper stab, lower stab, oblique stab and reverse stab.
3. Split the waist and the whole arm of the sword, reaching the middle and front sections of the blade on the side opposite to the tiger’s edge, and exerting force from top to bottom. Such as “independent swing” and “reverse swing”.
4. The palm of the sweeping sword is upward, and the sword body is flat. With the strength of the waist, move the blade from one side to the other side in parallel at the low place to sweep. The range of motion is large, which is the action of attacking the footwall.
5. Taking the sword is an attack based on defense. Turn the forearm outwards or inwards, and focus on the outer blade to make it cut from front to back or obliquely. Such as “right flat belt” type and “turning oblique belt” type.
6. Pulling the sword is a defensive move. Retract and bend the elbow joint, with the force on the blade, and pull it back from front to back or left to right with the blade. Such as “backward withdrawal” and “turning withdrawal”.
7. Cutting the sword is a defensive move. Use the arm and wrist to exert force. The point of force is transferred from the back end or the middle part of the blade to the front. It has the function of cutting off or cutting. Such as “virtual step down cut”.
8. Wipe the sword and attack in the middle. Smooth the blade from front to back, or from left to right. The force is on the blade. Such as “rotary troweling”.
9. Lifting the sword is an offensive move. Use the middle part or front end of the blade on the opposite side of the tiger’s mouth to exert force, pull the wrist upward, and move it from bottom to front or up to cut. Such as the “left empty step lift” and “right lunge lift”.
10. Fencing is an offensive move. With the palm upward, strike forward with the tip of the blade on the tiger’s side, and concentrate on the front end of the sword. Such as “retreat and counterattack”.
11. Hanging the sword is a defensive action. There are left hanging and right hanging. The sword holder works backward from the tiger’s mouth side to reach the sword tip, hooks back from front to back, and hangs back to the right (left) lower part of the body.
12. Holding the sword is an attack and defense move. The upper arm is extended and lifted by the sword body (blade) from the bottom to the top, with the focus on the middle and rear sections of the blade. Such as “independent flat support”.
13. Fencing is a defensive move. Use the blade to push the block from back to front, or push the frame from bottom to top. Such as the “right lunge stop” type.
