We often call drug addicts “addicts”. However, don’t think that only drugs can make you addicted. Smoking, drinking, surfing the Internet, gambling and other habits can also make you addicted. When your life, even your life, is addicted to the external stimuli brought by these activities, and you feel uncomfortable once you get rid of this stimulus, you should be careful whether you have become an “addict”. The following addictive behaviors need special vigilance.
alcohol addiction: unlike other addictive substances, people are very tolerant of alcohol, which also makes many people underestimate its harm. The main components of the wine are ethanol and water, almost without nutrients. Excessive drinking will reduce appetite and lack a variety of nutrients. Alcohol seriously damages the liver, resulting in a high incidence of alcoholic liver and cirrhosis. Regular drinking will also harden the heart and blood vessels, which is also very harmful to the lungs. It is easy to get tracheitis, emphysema, etc., and can induce laryngeal cancer and gastric cancer in serious cases. Alcoholics may have hallucinations, delusions, and serious violent tendencies, which are not conducive to the physical and mental health of family members and children, and the risk of accidents caused by drink driving is also great. Therefore, it is recommended to drink low alcohol. The daily alcohol intake of adult males should not exceed 25g, and that of females should not exceed 15g. It should not exceed 5 times a week. If it exceeds this standard, it belongs to harmful drinking.
drug addiction: the problem of drug addiction has been ignored by people. According to the statistics of the US Centers for Disease Control and prevention, about 15000 Americans die of prescription drug overdose every year. The death toll caused by drug addiction exceeds the sum of cocaine and heroin deaths, and even exceeds car accidents. Common drug addictions mainly include sleeping pills, painkillers, cough suppressants, etc., which are usually caused by doctors prescribing excessive drugs or patients taking excessive drugs themselves. After drug addiction, addicts will have serious mental anxiety, insomnia, depression, unconsciousness, emaciation, and even liver and kidney failure, poisoning and death. Most of the drug addicts do not think that they are ill, reject treatment, and keep buying drugs and Tibetan medicines. Therefore, anyone should follow the doctor’s advice and do not use analgesic, sleeping and anesthetic drugs without authorization. It is suggested that the doctor should not prescribe more than 2 weeks of drugs at one time.
tobacco addiction: nicotine in tobacco products can lead to tobacco dependence, which will evolve into a chronic addictive disease after a sense of tobacco dependence. When smokers smoke, 90% of nicotine will be absorbed by the lungs, and a small amount of nicotine will enter the brain very quickly, which will excite the nerves like alcohol addiction. When the nicotine level in the body drops, smokers will experience dizziness, nausea and irritability, and when they smoke again, they will regain satisfaction. Most of the characters of smoking addicts are impulsive, irritable, selfish, decadent, unruly, etc. in movies and TV plays, rebellious or decadent people are often expressed by smoking, which can be called a typical “smoking personality”. When you can’t live without tobacco, your smoking will not only slowly eat away your life, but also endanger the health of your family. People with tobacco addiction should quit smoking as soon as possible or seek professional help from the smoking cessation clinic.
Internet addiction: if the above “addictions” are all substance dependent diseases, then Internet addiction is a mental dependence disease. Internet addicts surf the Internet for a long time every day. When they leave the Internet, they will be anxious, depressed, irritable, and sometimes have convulsions and tremors all over the body, and even have suicidal and self mutilating thoughts and behaviors. However, after surfing the Internet, he showed high spirits, dull expression and indifference to the surrounding things. Internet addiction can also lead to various physical diseases, such as malnutrition, vision loss, drinking and smoking. According to the statistics of China Youth Network Association, about 14.1% of China’s urban youth Internet users are Internet addicts, with about 24.04 million people. We should be aware that Internet addiction is a mental disease. When the symptoms are mild, we should alleviate them by diverting attention, participating in more sports and cultivating other interests; If it is serious, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time to avoid affecting normal work and study.
