As we all know, life lies in movement. This usually means that exercise can improve physical function, so it is also called “Sports”.
The latest research published in the journal Neurology points out that exercise can also improve the brain and nerves. As long as you take a walk for an hour three times a week, you can “walk” dementia, and even those patients who have developed Alzheimer’s can reverse it.
Scientists from the University of British Columbia in Canada have found that as long as they keep exercising for more than an hour three times a week, they can not only prevent cognitive impairment in the future, but also improve the symptoms that have occurred.
Not only walking, but other sports have similar effects. The cognitive score of the volunteers who adhered to this exercise mode increased by 1.7 points.
Another paper in the Journal of diabetes suggests that people take a 10 minute walk after each meal, which can reduce blood sugar and maintain health for type 2 diabetes patients.
A study by Otago University in New Zealand found that walking for 10 minutes after breakfast, lunch and dinner is better than walking for 30 minutes at a time. After the subjects took a walk, their blood glucose index immediately decreased by 22%, which was 12% better than the effect of walking only once a day.
Such benefits are not limited to diabetes patients. The article in this journal points out that a joint survey by Cambridge University and University College London found that if healthy people could walk for 30 minutes five days a week, the risk of developing type 2 diabetes would be reduced by 26% in the future. Moreover, the more people exercise, the greater the effect. If they exercise for one hour a day, the risk would be reduced by as much as 40%.
