Walk every day to prevent old people from being bedridden

Japan’s “economic news” recently published an expert opinion that walking 8000 steps a day can prevent the elderly from becoming bedridden.

“Brains and muscles are the key to staying young.” Professor Kuno uraya of Tsukuba University in Japan pointed out that the elderly’s bedridden condition is mainly affected by three factors: cognitive impairment, stroke and falling fracture. The effective ways to prevent these three factors are aerobic exercise and muscle exercise. Moderate aerobic exercise can delay brain aging, exercise balance, prevent wrestling, reduce obesity and reduce the chance of stroke.

For the elderly, the most suitable aerobic exercise is walking. The goal can be set to take a total of 8000 steps a day and 56000 steps a week. For the elderly who can’t walk 8000 steps a day, there is no need to force them. They can walk separately. They can walk less today and more tomorrow. They can walk a total of 56000 steps a week. If it can be matched with quantitative muscle exercises, the effect will be better.
