France’s 20 minutes reported on November 23 that sometimes the progress of science and technology will have limitations. A few days ago, a research result revealed by the French website “science and the future” proved this very well.
According to the report, in order to know which method of hand drying can best avoid the spread of bacteria in the air, researchers from the University of Leeds in the UK conducted experiments on toilet paper, traditional electronic hand dryers and jet hand dryers.
It is reported that the hands of the experimenters were first contaminated with Lactobacillus, which is harmless to the human body. This kind of bacteria is not common in the toilet. Subsequently, the experimenters dried their hands in three ways. The results showed that the number of bacteria after using air-jet hand dryers was 27 times that of using toilet paper, and 4.5 times that of using traditional electronic hand dryers.
In addition, the website also said that according to the manual on hand hygiene published by the World Health Organization, it is better to use disposable toilet paper.
