The Spring Festival is a good time to get together and relax. Many people stay up late to surf the Internet, watch TV, or get together with classmates and friends. They often get up at noon the next day. In this way, it is easy to miss the time of taking medicine, resulting in missed taking. Whether to take supplements at this time should be analyzed according to the types of drugs and specific conditions.
Take the commonly used antibiotics as an example, they are mainly determined by the number of times they are taken every day. Generally, take antibiotics once a day. If it is found that the antibiotics are missed on the same day, you should take them once again immediately, and continue to take them the next day according to the usual time. If you miss taking antibiotics twice or three times a day, you need to postpone the next time after taking them immediately. For example, if you took antibiotics at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. before, you need to take the second drug at 6 p.m. after finding that you missed taking the first drug at 10 a.m. The next day, the time of taking medicine returned to normal.
Antihypertensive drugs have stricter requirements on the time of taking them. Human blood pressure is generally higher at 8-10 o’clock and 5-7 p.m., and the effects of many short-term antihypertensive drugs appear half an hour after taking them, reaching a peak in 2-3 hours. Therefore, taking antihypertensive drugs at 7:00 and 2:00 in the afternoon can achieve better results. If such antihypertensive drugs are missed, the blood pressure will rise. If the missed time is more than half of the interval between two drugs, they should be taken immediately and the next time of taking drugs should be postponed appropriately. The long-acting antihypertensive drugs are generally taken once a day, and should be taken once immediately after missing. If it is found the next day, there is no need to supplement it. Just continue to take it according to the usual time.
The principle of drug supplement is that if you miss the time of taking medicine, you can take the dose once when you think of it. If it is too close to the next time of taking medicine, you don’t have to take it again. Never take two doses at the same time to avoid adverse reactions caused by drug accumulation.
