We often say, “if there is a general rule, there is no pain, but if there is a pain, there is no way”. Indeed, the Qi and blood meridians of the human body are like rivers. Only when they run smoothly can they nourish the viscera of the whole body and ensure the normal operation of body organs.
Careful people can easily find that many problems are related to “blocking”, “silting” and “suffocation”. Dredging in time to avoid unnecessary impurities and wastes in the human body can “reduce the burden” on the body and mind. If life and rest are disordered and bad habits are entangled, it is easy to destroy the running law of Qi and blood, lead to the accumulation of “garbage” and cause health problems.
Qi stagnation. Where the gas is “blocked”, there will be discomfort. If Qi stagnates in the spleen, the stomach will be less receptive and full of pain; Qi stagnation in the liver leads to liver Qi disorder, flank pain and irritability; If Qi stagnates in the lung, the lung qi is unclear, and there is much phlegm, asthma and cough. Serious qi stagnation may even be a prelude to blood stasis.
Depression, introversion, fussiness over trifles, lack of exercise, excessive drinking, etc. will affect the operation of Qi.
Blood stasis. If the blood flow is not smooth, the operation is blocked, and the blood is accumulated in the meridians or organs in a stagnant state, there will be different degrees of blood stasis, resulting in pale or dull complexion, fatigue, lack of Qi, lazy speech, pain, dull tongue or purple spots.
Most modern people carry several loads and constantly deal with all kinds of complicated information. It is easy to be impetuous and affect the operation of blood vessels. In addition, mental tension and anxiety, overwork, too much entertainment, and eating too greasy will also make the blood too viscous, resulting in poor flow.
Phlegm is turbid. The phlegm in traditional Chinese medicine includes the phlegm in the lung and stomach that can be coughed and spitted, the external phlegm that can be touched at the pain and disease, and the potential phlegm that stops in the viscera and blood vessels. The harm range of sputum can be said to be everywhere. It can produce sputum due to disease and get sick due to sputum.
There are many causes of phlegm, including six exogenous pathogens, emotional depression, diet fatigue, and internal injuries of viscera. The irregular work and rest of modern people, excessive pursuit of fame and wealth, ups and downs of emotions, and lack of attention to exercise will all lay the foundation for phlegm production.
Wet gathering. TCM believes that dampness is the “evil of all evils”. When surrounded by dampness, it will be “wet and heavy as a wrap”, making people sleepy and powerless, tasteless and fat and powerless. Lack of sleep, smoking and drinking, irregular diet, lack of exercise, staying at home all day, and living in cold and shady places for a long time will all aggravate moisture.
Hot. If the body accumulates heat, it will get angry, which will bring a series of adverse effects, such as sore mouth and tongue, red and swollen eyes, irritability and so on. Dislike of drinking water, poor indoor ventilation, eating too much spicy food, dislike of vegetables and fruits, and large mood swings will “add fuel to the fire” and make the heat excessive and hurt the body fluid.
Freezing. When cold evil accumulates in the body, Yang Qi will be damaged, and symptoms such as fear of cold, cold limbs, pain in the lower abdomen, and irregular menstruation will occur. People who like to eat cold drinks, want to be cool, stay in the air-conditioned room for a long time, do not pay attention to the warmth of the waist, head and other parts, and do not like sports will aggravate the cold.
