Israeli researchers say that sleeping irregularly is prone to back pain
A joint study by Haifa University of Israel and sourasky medical center in Tel Aviv found that there is an important link between lack of sleep and back pain, which is common in adults. Lack of sleep directly leads to back pain.
The researchers surveyed 2131 volunteers with an average age of 46 to understand the time of their backache. These people have an average working age of 15.8 years, and the average working hours are 9.6 hours a day. After regular inspection, researchers found that employees with good health and no sleep problems have a 150% lower probability of backache than employees with poor sleep. In addition, there is a closer relationship between insomnia and back pain in women. After excluding factors such as socio-economic level and lifestyle, this conclusion is still valid.
According to the analysis of the researchers, it can be seen from the survey results that the proportion of low back pain has increased significantly among the people with sleep disorders. This may be due to the fact that people with sleep problems often suffer from tremendous work and life pressure, and the long-term lack of rest leads to muscle tension. In addition, the lack of exercise in life is easy to cause backache.
At present, the proportion of back pain among adults has reached 60% ~ 80%, which has become a chronic disease bothering many people and the primary reason why many enterprises pay compensation to employees. In Europe, this expenditure accounts for 0.5% ~ 2% of GDP. The researchers said that if people sleep irregularly for a long time and have insomnia problems, their personal sensitivity to pain will increase, which also increases the risk of lumbar and cervical diseases.
