Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin in the United States recently found that watching TV without restraint is closely related to loneliness and depression.
The researchers selected more than 300 participants aged between 18 and 29 and asked them about their TV watching habits and emotions. The results showed that people with stronger loneliness and depression were more likely to indulge in watching TV. In addition, people who lack self-control are more likely to indulge in watching TV. Even if they know they have something to do, they can’t stop. Psychologists believe that watching TV without restraint may also increase loneliness, induce depression and other psychological diseases.
