A new Danish study has found that billiards and beer can help slow down the aging process. People over 70 should be encouraged to drink beer and play billiards.
In the new study, Dr. ask Larsen of the health aging research center of the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, conducted field research on two elderly activity centers in Copenhagen. He said billiards and beer should be included in the “guidelines for active anti-aging” issued by the World Health Organization and the European Union.
Dr. Larson pointed out that billiard itself may be difficult to directly combat aging, but the elderly can enjoy it and fully enjoy the fun brought by billiard. This helps to improve the quality of life, and also allows the elderly to contact more people and maintain an active social life. Billiards is also most suitable for the elderly, because there is a natural alternation of movement and quiet in the process of playing billiards, and the time can be long or short. The elderly can play for several hours without feeling tired and boring. Moderate beer (one glass) is also good for bones and heart. The recreational activities of “billiard + beer” can also make the elderly forget the pain of disease and the unhappiness of life for a while.
Thirty years ago, health experts believed that playing cards was the most suitable sport for the elderly. Nowadays, the elderly prefer to live a rich and colorful life. With the improvement of medical treatment, many elderly people are still in good health when they are in their 90s. Therefore, we need to pay attention to the elderly physically and mentally, advocate the “active anti-aging” approach, and increase the activities loved by the elderly. Only in this way can we better improve the quality of life and overall health of the elderly.
