1、 Representative exposition of TCM classics on “treating diseases before they occur”
The discussion of the former sages can be roughly divided into three aspects: “prevention before illness”, “prevention of change after illness” and “recovery / rehabilitation”. “Prevention before disease” is subdivided into two aspects: prevention before disease and elimination before disease, which includes all the contents of three-level prevention in modern medicine.
1. Prevention before disease means prevention before disease to prevent the occurrence of internal etiology or / and invasion of external pathogens, which is the health protection when the body is healthy, or the prevention of infectious diseases. For example, Suwen · four Qi and spirit regulation theory: “In spring and March, this is called hair growth. Heaven and earth are alive, and all things are proud. Sleep at night and get up early, and walk widely in the court. Wear hair slowly to make your mind grow. Live without killing, reward without punishment, and give without taking. This is the response of spring Qi and the way to nourish your health. If you go against it, you will hurt your liver. In summer, it will become cold, and fewer people will serve your elders.. in winter and March, this is called closed storage, water and ice. There is no disturbance to the sun. Lie down early and get up late, and you will stay in the sun, so that your mind will be as if it were hidden.. this is why the sage has not cured his illness The disease is already in disorder if it is not treated, and the disease is not in disorder if it is treated. ” In the seven chapters on luck in Su Wen, there are many discussions on the prevention and treatment of diseases according to the prosperity and decline of five movements and six Qi.
2. Eliminating the cause of disease is to remove the cause of disease in the body. At this time, the rise and fall of yin and Yang in the human viscera have been biased, or evil Qi has been stored, but it has not yet caused the abnormality of human functional activities. For example, “Suwen · theory of pricking heat”: “if you have liver fever, your left cheek will be red first… Although the disease has not occurred, you can prick it when you see the red color, which is called curing the disease before it.” “The upper work stabs those who are not alive, the second stabs those who are not prosperous, the second stabs those who are not weak, and the lower work stabs those who are attacking in the direction. It is also the same as the prosperity and decline of the shape, and it is also the opposite of the disease and the pulse. So it is said that the upper work treats those who are not sick, not those who are already sick.”
3. Prevention of existing diseases means to control the diseases locally and not to spread to new viscera and deep levels. For example, in the synopsis of the golden chamber, the treatment of visceral meridians and collaterals is based on the combination of diseases and pulse syndromes: “when the husband treats those who are not sick, he sees the disease of the liver and knows that the liver transmits spleen. It is necessary to strengthen the spleen first. The spleen is strong in all seasons and does not suffer from evil, that is, he does not supplement it.”
4. Disease recovery prevention / rehabilitation nursing refers to nursing care for preventing disease recurrence or ensuring the recovery of the body after the disease is eliminated but the healthy qi is seriously injured, and / or the remaining pathogens are not exhausted. For example, “Suwen fever theory”: “if you eat less meat, you will recover, and if you eat more, you will leave behind. This is forbidden.” “Treatise on typhoid fever · distinguish between yin and Yang, recover from fatigue and treat the pulse syndrome of disease”: “for those who recover from fatigue after a serious illness, Fructus aurantii, gardenia and soy sauce soup are the main ones. After typhoid fever, it is even more febrile, and Xiaochaihu soup is the main one.”
2、 Definition of “not sick” state
“No disease” means “no disease”, which is defined as “the human body state with existing etiology but not yet pathogenic”, that is, the early stage of the disease; In combination with the reality, the disease free and extended period includes the early stage of disease recurrence, the recovery period, and the “disease prevention and change prevention” period, which is called the special disease free state. Such as “seeing the disease of the liver, knowing that the liver transmits to the spleen”, liver disease means that the spleen is not sick.
