With the widespread use of TV, computer and mobile phone, watching the fluorescent screen for a long time can easily lead to dry eye. Professor LAN Yuqing, director of Ophthalmology at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat sen University, said that dry eye has become one of the common eye diseases.
As the name implies, “dry eyes” means “dry eyes”. The medical definition is “abnormal tear quality and quantity caused by any reason, accompanied by eye discomfort, resulting in eye surface tissue lesions”. LAN Yuqing reminds that if you often feel that your eyes are easily tired and your eyelids are heavy, for example, you want to close your eyes after reading the newspaper or watching TV for a few minutes; I can’t see things clearly; Your eyes are dry, itchy, red, even painful, afraid of light, shed tears, or have inexplicable discomfort. Maybe dry eyes have found you.
When dry eyes appear, we do not recommend buying eye drops to solve the problem. It is best to go to the hospital to check the tear film and tear secretion of the eyes, determine the degree of dry eyes, and treat them according to the causes. There are many causes of dry eye, including autoimmune diseases, decreased sex hormone levels, environmental factors, etc. Dry eye disease can not be cured by seeing a doctor once, because no matter it is a systemic disease or a dry eye disease caused by environmental factors, it can be cured only by removing the cause.
tips for preventing dry eyes
1. Don’t wear contact lenses for a long time. Wearing contact lenses for a long time can also easily make your eyes dry and astringent. This is because contact lenses can easily absorb moisture, resulting in dehydration on the surface of the eyeball.
2. For the prevention of dry eyes, ophthalmologists suggest that for some computer users, they should not sit in front of the computer for more than 2 hours. When you look at the screen, you must develop the habit of blinking more.
Pay attention to the number of blinks. Generally, the normal number of blinks is 15 to 20 times per minute. Don’t “forget to blink” because you are too focused.
3. Adjusting the placement of the computer and the angle of the display so that the angle of view between the eyes and the display data is a top-down angle can reduce the evaporation of tears and effectively alleviate the dryness of the eyes. This overlooking method is also effective when reading a book, newspaper or TV.
4. Apply heat to the eyes, massage around the eyes, cover the double clothes with a hot towel or handkerchief (close the eyes at the same time), 1 to 2 times a day, and apply heat for about lo-15 minutes each time. You can also use your thumb to gently press the bones around the eye socket, start from the inside above the eye socket, massage along the bones to the outside of the eyes, and then move to the nose, which can increase the blood circulation of the eyes.
5. Develop good living habits, try to keep enough sleep and reduce staying up late.
6. Pay attention to eye hygiene and take regular rest. It is recommended to take a 10 minute rest every hour.
7. Keep a distance from the screen (no less than 60cm). It is recommended that the screen be placed lower than the eyes.
8. You can put a humidifier on the desk to reduce the drying of the air.
